The Miller Family :: Fall Family Session :: Fall in Indiana

I laughed so much during this session! The Miller family just knows how to laugh! Sessions like this always validate my love for family sessions and my love for my clients. I have photographed this family since their oldest was a newborn! I love when I have that established relationship with clients. It makes EVERYTHING run more smoothly! The parents already know what to expect before the session even starts. They understand that I get those poses of everyone looking and smiling and then… We play! We snuggle! We giggle!

I also love it when Mom and Dad just walk away and let me interact with their children. Here are the reasons why:

  1. The children pay attention to me and look at my camera. They aren’t looking towards Mom and Dad.

  2. The children and I can make connections with each other. We become friends. So then, when I put them back together with the whole group, they usually trust me and follow my directions.

  3. With those connections, the children have a better chance of remembering me at future sessions.

  4. It’s less stress on Mom and Dad. They don’t have to stand behind me trying to get their children to look and smile. Now granted, there are some instances where I do have a parent stand close so their child doesn’t get nervous. But, it’s my job to get the child to smile….not Mom or Dad.

This session had everything listed above! And Mom sent me a text after the session that said, “Little sister said she loves you. She said you’re one of her best friends”. —and isn’t that just the SWEETEST thing!! My heart melted with she told me that.

My goal at every session is to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed during their time in front of the camera. I am a very laid back person. I understand how the minds of little ones work and try to always make them have fun. Bottom line….stress free!
